...1/29/02: very warm today, but another Winter Storm Watch for the N & E mountains, starting on 1/29/02 evening and continuing into 1/30/02, with a chance of snow in ABQ; Winter Storm Warning in the N mts., as of 1/29/02 PM; rain in the SE; snow showers in ABQ, moving out on Thursday...driving could be hazardous in the northern areas (Las Vegas to Raton), snow over 7500 feet...early in the week, there was a Bermuda High that has Washington, DC basking in 70 degree heat!...snow fell in San Francisco, Sacramento & San Jose...1/30/02: Snow Advisory, chance of 1-3" in ABQ; storm is moving E from AZ, and will leave during Thursday...there will be a chance of 2-4" in NW, rain/snow in the SE, 4-10" in the NE, 6-12" near Taos & Angel Fire, 6-10" in Estancia...first there's a watch, then a warning...1/30/02: a deadly winter storm spread ice and snow across parts of 14 states from Texas to New England, killing five people in traffic accidents, knocking down power lines and closing schools...the storm was still developing and that freezing rain and heavier snow were likely, with the northeast feeling its impact on Thursday...at mid-day Wednesday the storm stretched from the Texas panhandle across parts of Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, Hew Hampshire and Maine...after work, it was snowing hard at the Beach, just a snow & rain combo at UNM...Sandia Peak got 15 inches of snow!...Santa Fe received 12"; Taos, 10"; Angel Fire, 7" and Durango, 4"...ABQ had 1-3" inches...1/31/02: the storm was directly over ABQ at 5:45 AM...classes & work hours at UNM started at 10 AM...unsure of what that meant, I got to work at 7:55 AM, and was later informed that no leave is charged until after 10, and I did not have to shorten my lunch shift, per Roseann...it was an easy bus ride...the irony is that I could not produce the census report to start my rounds since I do not have my own clearance to the IDX system, and therefore have to wait for Geri & Ann...I-10 closed from Deming to Lordsburg...

...2/5/02: started the rounds by myself in 3-East...forgot my ID, late for a class on RAVEL that I was not notified until 45 minutes after it started...a search was started for me, then I ran from my area to Roseann's office...Roseann realized when the other new employee reached her office that neither of us had been contacted...she apologized and we raced to Darth Vader...picked up incorrect census, correct one was never printed...2/6/02: worked with Ann, my monitor went blank, Ann could not access her PC because Geri changed the password, so we could not access Brahms and print the census report...walked the entire route picking up discharges...saw Roseann's entire staff in the AM, also...2/6/02: learnered PowerChart & Transcription Inquiry...these people have a lot to learn regarding teaching...self tutorials only tells you what, and never answers the why...2/7/02: PC still not working, both Ann & myself contacted Roseann, by phone & E-mail...learned Cerner (more or less); can now produce census reports (I hope!)...these people do not review the material they use; the instructions did not produce the desired results according to the training manual...also learned how to code Hematology & Oncology services...new monitor arrived, problem was bent prongs on the old one...2/8/02: 4-hour Civil Rights meeting, resulting in lots not getting done, asked to work O/T on 2/9...did so for 3 hours...
