...4/27/03: chemical weapons may have been found in Baiji, a city 130 miles N of Baghdad...Iraq lied to weapons inspectors; the country did have chemical WMD, which they destroyed just days before the war started...rumor has it that France may have been informing Saddam of the war's progress...duplicity?...the Shiite Muslums will play a key role in the new Iraqi GOV'T...Terik Aziz, a Catholic, tried to flee to Europe or the US, but his family was placed under house arrest...


...4/28/03: Saddam Hussein's 66th birthday!...5,000 soldiers are heading home!...Bush visited Dearborn, MI, home to a large Iraqi population...he is still of the opinion that sanctions are pointless at this time...we are not trying to impose our GOVT or culture on these people...no chemical weapons have yet to be found in Iraq...a 4,000 Coalition police force will patrol Baghdad...4/28/03: soldiers fired upon Iraqi protestors...who started the conflict?...both sides blame each other...4/29/03: it happened again in the city of Fallujah...also, on one hand, troops in Saudi Arabia will leave that country by SEPT...on the other hand, Rumsfeld wants even more soldiers [in terms of thousands] to patrol Baghdad...4/30/03: another day, another fight...this time, 7 US soldiers are wounded...


...5/1/03: President Bush addressed the nation from the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, off the coast of CA...the ship was stopping in San Diego before returning home to Everett, WA...it had completed a 10-month tour of duty, the longest any carrier had done since the Vietnam war...George W. Bush piloted a jet most of the way from San Diego...I was listening to him...it was not a victory speech...it was to tell Americans that the major combat was over, now we have to help the people of Iraq, Afghanistan & Palestine establish governments that represent the various people who live in those countries...we will also help rebuild Iraq's education system...the local people will decide what to study...

...5/2/03: for a short period of time, Iraq will be divided into 3 sectors, to be watched over by the US (central), UK (south) & Poland (north) ...

...5/2/03: some of the female crewman left the Abraham Lincoln pregnant!...Honest!...Afghanistan is now stable & in a reconstruction phase...the battle of Iraq still continues...the country will shift from dictatorship to democracy...


...5/2/03: the Dixie Chicks held their first concert since the lead singer said she opposed the war in Iraq & was ashamed that President Bush was from Texas, her home state...but the SRO audience in Greenville, SC was full of cheers, not jeers...and there will be lots of cheers as Alamogordo has a parade on 5/3/03 to honor the returned POW who lives in their city...the US flags will be flying high...

...5/3/03: Colin Powell visits Syria...he told them how they should behave in post-Saddam Iraq, or face consequences if they do not co-operate...schools reopen in Baghdad...but parents are afraid to be apart from their children...pro-Saddam forces still roam the city...and a weary Saddam Hussein appears in a video, telling his people to rise up against the infidels...the next phase of the conflict may be guerilla warfare...5/4/03: a play about repression under a dictator was performed on a Baghdad stage...people attended & the audience applauded...the cast treated war as if it were a disease...5/5/03: Iraq will be ruled by a 9-person government body...


...many of the captured Iraqi soldeirs have been released...they have been given food & money, some have been driven to local cities...


...5/7/03: could Saddam still be alive...audio tape appears; the voice says to drive the Americans out of Iraq...$700,000 found buried in the outskirts of Baghdad...Saddam's son took $1 billion from a bank, using 3 trucks to haul the cargo...it took 1 day to complete this task...


...5/8/03: Arab newspaper printed in London states that the al-Qaida is increasing in size & planning another attack similar to 9/11...the US is lifting sanctions against Iraq...the President is trying to persuade the UN to do the same...


...5/9/03: President Bush would like a Middle East Free Trade Zone...Palestine now has a prime minister & Cabinet which oppose violence...2 soldiers were killed in Baghdad...hospital conditions are improving...RET GEN J. Garner one of a group of people giving up their positions & leaving Iraq?...


...5/12/03: Colin Powell to meet with Arab leaders regarding the Road to Peace plan...during the week he will go to Israel & Palestine...however, hours before he was to land in Riyadh, Saudi Arabi, 50 people were wounded from various car bombs...


...Iraqi soccer players were tortured when they made mistakes, which resulted in the team losing a game...quitting meant execution...5/12/03: at least 10 Americans were killed in the attack on Riyadh, which focused on residential complexes...Saudi Arabia admits its security may have been lax, and that they did suspect something like this could happen, but they do not feel a non-Arabic country should publically reprimand them...Colin Powell suspects the al-Qaida...Israel & Palestine will meet for peace talks on 5/16/03...US troops reopened a border crossing between Syria & Iraq...but US diplomats are being urged to leave Saudi Arabia...and US soldiers can now shoot Iraqi looters on sight...more police will be hired to help deal with these situations...

...5/16/03: more attacks are possible in Saudi Arabia, Kenya & Asia...Americans should avoid traveling to these areas...5/17/03: 4 explosions in various parts of Casablanca, Morocco...no Americans injured...with the recent rise in suicide bombings, Israel has cancelled a conference in the US this week, the subject being the Road to Peace...the current person in charge of Iraq is referred to as the President of the country...the Palestines have been banned from Israel after the recent suicide bombings...a helicopter crash in Iraq kills 5 soldiers...


...5/20/03: Iraqis do not want a puppet GOVT...they want proof that the US is leaving soon...the US wants the UN to approve a resolution so that countries can oversee the progress of Iraq...the terror alert has been raised again to Orange...a Daily Threat Matrix is used to determine if the alert should be raised or lowered...the attacks would probably take place in between 5/21 & 5/24/03...attack targets include NYC, DC & Boston, plus our eastern coastline towns...this is based on a broadcast by Osama binLaden's & al-Qaida's number 2 figure...the National Guard has returned to SunPort...but, cities cannot afford to pay overtime for their police, and the Congress is slow to grant additional funding...and after 9 weeks, no smoking guns or WMD have been located in Iraq...this included chemical or biological weapons...US soldiers are asking Iraqi citizens for their assistance in helping to find any evidence...Democrats in Congress are finger pointing at Bush for not finding WMD, which was the purpose of this war...5/21/03: bombing in Yale classroom, no one hurt...the terror threats may be extended into the summer...


...5/22/03: the UN votes to end sanctions against Iraq...Defense GEN Tommy Franks to retire this summer...commercial airlines can land in Baghdad...but where on earth is Saddam Hussein?...


...5/23/03: and N Korea still keeps reminding the world about its threat of nuclear weapons...Japan & the US are trying to determine how to settle this matter in a diplomatic fashion...


...the Road to Peace may get a spur route when the President meets with the Israeli leader...the road is also filled with car bombs & exploding buses & death...


...5/25/03: the Israeli cabinet barely approves the Road Map to Peace, creating a Palestinian state by 2005...said one member, This is not a happy decision!...Israel has to withdraw from Palestine settlements...President Bush is heading for the Middle East to discuss the Road to Peace...we shall see...crude oil production in Iraq could double in 1 month...now US lawmakers want the leaders of Iran to step down from power...I don't think so!...it is believed that Iran is in league with the al-Qaeda, although they have been known to be bitter enemies...why don't they ask N Korea to do the same thing?...5/30/03: the US says it has no plans to attack Iran...N Korean fishing boats entered S Korean's territorial waters...warning shots are fired...

...5/30/03: the national terror threat alert has been lowered to Yellow...

...Tony Blair will be the first head of state to visit Iraq since the major conflicts have ended...President Bush will go to Egypt & Jordan to discuss the Road to Peace with Arab, Israeli & Palestinean leaders...he also made stops in Poland, St. Petersburg in Russia (to celebrate the city's 300th birthday, and to France for the G-8 summit and also to mend fences between the 2 countries...aren't cliches sweet?......

...since the major conflicts have ended in Iraq, Coalition soldiers face unexpected attacks...5/31/03: 3 soldiers are killed, 6 others wounded when a traffic accident turns violent...it is not easy to maintain the peace when danger is everywhere to be found in Baghdad...and still no traces of WMD...were there any ever in that country just prior to the war?...Congress & the world want to know...or was it a ruse to lure other countries in the US quest to remove Saddam Hussein from power?...hopefully the answers will be found in the next few months...

...soldiers are acting as peacekeepers, while attacks on them have taken place in both Iraq & Saudi Arabia...N Korea says it will keep building nuclear bombs...more politicians question if there are WMD in Iraq...6/2/03: Colin Powell had a 30-minute audience with the Pope...

...6/5/03: another day without finding WMD...1 soldier is killed as 1,500 military personnel help patrol the country...Prime Minister Blair of the UK is under pressure to tell Parliament where these WMD can be found...he replies that you are missing the point...of what?...President Bush is heading home after visiting Central Command in Qatar...6/6/03: a suicide bomber kills 2 German soldiers in Afghanistan...possibly al-Qaeda involvement...6/7/03: Hamas may pull out of the peace negotiations due to reccent attacks...6/9/03: Hamas says it will continue peace talks for now...and where are the WMD, or any reports about them?...6/10/03: Israel attacks Palestine...Bush calls and condemns their actions...soldiers fear for their lives in Iraq more than they did when there was an actual "war"...6/11/03: more helicopter attacks by Israel...Arabs retaliate by attacking Jews in Turkey...in a public rebuke, Hamas vows revenge on Israel for attempting to kill one of its leaders...


...Blix says Bush may have overstated Iraq WMD info...he describes the President's info as flawed, would not hold water & lots of luck to think that people will accept or believe it is fact...Blix may have used a "B" curse word when referring to Bush or the US, but that fact cannot be verified...

...6/12/03: a declaration of war has been issued between Israel & the Palestinians...in Gaza City, Israeli helicopters blew up a car containing a high-level Hamas leader, his pregnant wife & their 3-year old child...Bush has been quiet, with no public comments so far...the military is still finding pocket groups loyal to Saddam Hussein...Colin Powell will travel to the Middle East in order to allow the Road Map to Peace to go in the right direction...
