...4/10/02: humor and irony...our "big boss" stopped by the PEDS coding area after a meeting just to say "Hi" and some small talk...her office is in a building about 2 miles away from the main hospital center...4/11/02: Ann was out the entire day, attending a funeral with her mother...4/12/02: Rosanne let Ann leave early since she was starting her vacation, and I was allowed to leave early because of taking Brad out for his birthday at China Gate!...back at PBP, the president issued a memo saying that he was going to talk to the staff, and never showed up!...however, People Before Profits is planning a spring picnic, I guess with the option to the president of attending this event!...Captain is now the "Giant Moth Killer", his new persuit...

...the Indian Hospital of UNM is on Federal Property!...people at the Dept. of the Interior have been abusing credit card privilieges, or improper usage, as reported in the news...

...4/14/02: this will be the hottest day of the year, with temps in the mid-80s' in ABQ & Santa Fe, and 90s' in Lordsburg...this weekend was the Children's Fair at the ABQ Conv. Ctr...the cities & state try to care for the younger generation...water rates will go up 8% in mid-summer...4/13/02: 4 fires in the Apache Mescalero reservation, all contained that day...some people believe that there are too many trees near populated areas...and there is supposedly a machine that can turn wood chips into electricity...Charlie the Cockatoo escaped from the ABQ zoo!...a Racino (racing track + casino) is planned near Hobbs...this will be the fifth such complex in the state...4/15/02: DC will be in the 80s'!...4/16/02: DC reached 92 degrees...the East Coast was baking with record temperature over 20 degrees higher than normal...4/17/02: Mother Nature did it again, with 90 degree weather from DC to Boston!...that will end by the weekend (by the end of the day, Boston had a temp of 55)...in NM, we have a wind advisory for 25-35 mph gusts...

...we have started a Mineral Necklace trend...many men are wearing this jewelry around the city, and on TV! (Mutant X)...on April 20, Brad will be unemployed for 1 year...but on April 12, we celebrated Brad's birthday at the China Gate...we also discovered that starting on April 15, the entire complex will be sandblasted, patched up and repainted...the process will take 2 - 3 months...the front porch was taken apart and stored around the apartment...the BBQ is folded and in the gym...this is the last season for Roswell...

...4/16/02: status of the PBP pension plan money is nothing to report and no date of any kind for the payment...no status or progress report...and nothing can be done about it...Vanilla Coke makes its debut in May, 2002...good taste...not too sweet...

...from 4/15/02 to 4/23/02, Ann is on vacation, getting her car ready for a race on 4/19/02...Geri sits in our area...silence has completely disappeared...as of 4/16/02 Brad has become a student, learning what it takes to be a medical coder...and guess who is his teacher?...here's a clue: it's not Geri...so we have done the Rounds on a full and partial loop...he is looking up the numerical equivalent of the written diagnoses that appear on the patient's charts, plus those on the O/P billing forms...he is doing a good job, he's a quick learner and he is quite happy with this experience...and he gets up at 5 AM to go to work with me...for the present, where this will lead is uncertain...we both hope he will be a new UNM employee soon...4/19/02: Brad has a temporary student ID, valid until 6/30/02...he may be working in the Medicine or Anesthesia areas soon...if not, he will do more on the Rounds, to practice what he is learning...and I may be gaining access to the Women's Newborn section again, per Rosanne...finally put together a Cheat Sheet manual...4/23/02: Ann is back, things return to some reasonable form of sanity!...more to learn, explaining to Brad how to determine the level for a visit...so now I am both & teacher & student...Brad cannot attend TVI, because he has not lived in NM for 1 year...similar courses at UNM cost $760; at TVI, they would be around $100...

...there are sometimes more cars than employees at government agencies!...many high-class social functions in ABQ are held at the Sheraton Old Towne...4/18/02: AMTRAK train derailed north of Orlando; 4 people died...track conditions are being blamed, although less than an hour before a coal train made the same journey with no difficulty...4/23/02: train crash near Placentia, CA; 2 people dead, 260 injured...two trains on the same track, passenger train's engine at the rear...first car struck contained passengers...this occurred during the morning rush hour...there is no method to prevent two trains from being on the same track...the engineer of the freight train ran a red signal...the money for transportation is probably being spent on weapons against terrorists...a little could go to other needs of the country, like transportation safety...a plane flew into the 25th floor of a Milan skyscraper, killing the pilot...it was not a terrorist act...3 friendly fire attacks since the conflict with AFG began...the latest was 4 Canadian soldiers killed during an American training session...the people who wear pants, shorts or jeans so low the crack of their ass appears when they bend down (or over)...4/19/02: Rosanne let us out an hour early since the entire area is up to date...

...4/18/02: our complex lost a tenant...Richard, the paraplegic, passed away...he could be found walking his dog, riding his bike, and journeying by bus to downtown and other areas of the city...he never gave up...and will be missed...you could find him outside during any season...

...pipe bombs have been found in Iowa & Illinois (with injuries reported), Texas, Nebraska & Colorado (nobody hurt)...college student pleads guilty...it is stated that he wanted to draw a "smiley face" across the nation...

...our E-mail friend Ray, a bear who now lives with his lover of 40 years, Lee, in Palm Springs, CA...from what he has told me, Ray is only 39 years old...hmmm!...6/27/02: the couple celebrated 41 years together!...can you top that?...
