...the Rebel Yell in King's Dominion, VA...being disciplined by Cheryl Epp, Brenda Tanner & Darlene Cadden; then Cheryl reprimanding them for being unfair...when I tried to speak, one or both of them kept interrupting...1994: experiencing a salad bowl made of bread at the Perkin's in Sioux Falls, SD...Brad's battle with Bell's Palsy...I Feel Love Coming & Coming & Coming Out of Hiding...after spending lots of many through the years, the roof & basement of our previous employment still leak!...3/15/02: I-40 E near Cline's Corner was closed during the evening when a Hazmat truck collided with two cars...3/16/02: there is actually water flowing in the arroyo!...Nicole Kidman wants ex-hubbie Tom Cruise to co-star in her next movie...there were tornado warnings issued for Jackson, MS...a 4.6 earthquake shook southern CA...it was felt from Santa Barbara to Long Beach, and its epicenter was near Ventura...no serious damage or injuries reported...Holiday Nights...Sim City & Fury...the American Security Bank & the Safeway store in Waterside Mall, SW DC...
A watched traffic light never changes! One of the "rules of the road"!
...Buffy: 2002...the woman who has a goal to make her life, and that of her friends and families, as miserable as possible...and she is succeeding in the current season!...by mid-March, nobody should like or trust her...even Buffy's not sure if she is actually in a mental ward...and when she's not worrying, or working in a fast-food joint, she's screwing with another vampire, Spike, who has a chip in his head that prevents him from doing anything evil, thanks to her previous and "normal" boyfriend (who returned to tell her he's married, with wife in tow)...her other serious relationship was with a vampire named Angel, and she killed him!...the straight relationships go sour, so did the gay one...Buffy's own sister hates her...all of her friends have been injured (multiple times), hospitalized (ditto) and/or killed (then returned to life); the girl has a great track record as a pseudo-sadist!...her best male friend left his ex-demon bride waiting at the altar...but, I guess, one has to understand, Buffy does not want to be here, on Earth, now...she died (or so it seems), and was brought back to life, against her wishes (more or less, she was never asked if she wanted to come back to the living) by her crazy friends, which includes her sister...revenge is sweet (again, more or less)...
...3/19/02: snow in Flagstaff...heavy flooding in TN, KY and parts of VA...no rain, snow or anything in ABQ...gas increased 5 cents from 3/17/02 to 3/18/02...3/16/02: on Coors & Central it increased 20 cents in a period of three weeks...Brad made guacamole, sticky buns & northern Italian lasagne in a white cream sauce, one of the ingedients being chicken livers (super yum!)...
Ends & Odds...
...location, location, location...Mike has lived in southeastern MA, SW DC, NoVa and central NM...Brad has lived in the previously mentioned areas, plus west central PA, northwestern PA, south central, western & NoVA, eastern coastal NC, NoCentral GA, NE FL & eastern MA...
...3/15/02 (beware: the Ides of March)...Mike worked 83 hours this last pay period...by error he wrote 43...so he called up the manager on duty (Rosanne was on vacation) and explained the situation...Darlene (the other manager) said she would make the correction and initial the change...well, I'm not sure how large the new numbers were written because I received a check for only 43 hours...I E-mailed Rosanne in super priority mode...she made the necessary calls, and I got the balance on Tuesday, 3/19/02 after 1 PM...this may mean a journey to the main campus but I do not care...I can manage for a few more days (I think)...from this point on, my time form contains the number 80 for total hours worked!...3/18/02: wicked blue funk day, deep in depression during AM, wanted to get out of my seat and leave everything...calmed down during mid-day, increased again at the end of the work day...Blah!...I cry so much inside, sometimes it almost comes out...I have been having wave after wave of panic attacks...3/19/02: somewhat the same...I only need to walk from a Payroll Bldg. on Buena Vista & Las Lomas...it was a very simple procedure (finally!), but it did require that you present some ID...3/20/02: a warm & sunny first day of Spring...we could use a little less sun and a lot more rain...maybe during Easter weekend...just a little rain on Good Friday evening then sunshine again...
...effective 3/23/02, SunTran will be changing the frequency on some of its routes...fortunately, the main ones will not be affected...but the Menaul route will run every twenty minutes all day...that is quite a change and a justified one for this very busy street...and the Coors bus will stop on Central Ave...the route with least amount of passengers is Eubank, which is a but puzzling to me...I can purchase monthly bus passes through UNM for only $20 a month...that was the previous cost before the rate hike went into effect on 3/1/02!...one forgets that as a coder in Pediatrics we have to know how 13 clinics function...I have been told that I don't smile and I'm too quiet and/or serious at work...it is said that frowning uses more muscles than smiling...good, that means I exercise additional parts of my body (mainly, in the face)...I am a bitter person who just wants to be by himself...I am neither kinder or gentler, and neither is our country...3/27/02: it's Wednesday, and I'm tired & disgusted (see more)...security wise, my pass will no longer provide access to the Women's Clinic...someone decided that only the departmental staff should have clearance...so I now have to make sure someone is at the desk to open the door, the desk and the doors are a corridor apart...that's OK, as of 3/25/02, I will only visit PSAC, PICU, the Women's Clinic & Neonatology every other day...
...my work hours are now 7:00 - 4:00... if I work overtime it will be during the week, and only when pre-approved by Rosanne...Ann enjoys coming in on the weekends, but recent events have made her too tired to work on Sundays...she also maintains a racing car, attending events on Saturdays...it is amazing how many children here have parents who are in jail or constant drug users...that does not include the neglected or abused or malnourished, and the separations & divorces and the homes with boy- or girlfriend (possibly both), aunts, uncles, grandparents, and other relatives...some are transient or homeless...and one cannot forget to include the friendly, family pet or two or...well, you get the idea...these people maintain a family unit one way or another!...but on 3/21/02, I can still say that I am surprised by the number of polite, rough looking teens in this city...3/22/02: on the Lomas route, a boy asked if he could sit next to me in an empty bus seat...I still can't believe what I hear...
...during the weekend of 3/15/02, Brittanie Cecil was killed when a hockey puck deflected off the goal and into the audience, striking her and another person...she was conscious when escorted out of the stadium but died Monday night...the 13-year-old died as a result of damage to an artery when her head snapped back...the artery, which runs from the spine into the back of the brain, was damaged, leading to a vicious cycle of clotting in the artery and swelling of the brain...the puck struck her in the forehead, causing a skull fracture and some bruising of the brain in the area...but what killed her was the snapping back of the head and the damage to that artery...
...3/10/02: Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said he is prepared to end Yasser Arafat's confinement in the West Bank and negotiate with the Palestinians on a truce; but with violence at its worst levels in 17 months of fighting, he stated he will not call off the army offensive against militants. Sharon spoke hours after Israeli helicopters pounded Arafat's Gaza Strip office to rubble, retaliation for a Palestinian suicide attack that killed 11 others near Sharon's Jerusalem residence. The Palestinian office in Gaza City had been evacuated before the air attack, and no one was hurt...in spite of many setbacks and never-ending killings, peace talks are still being attempted...3/26/02, and they are still trying to decide when & where to meet...during the Holy Weekend, more suicide bombs and tank invasions escalate the tensions...Israel says it is fighting against terrorists...Israel has also invaded several Palestine cities, including Bethlehem, which is being overrun by tanks that crush vehicles as they move through the neighborhoods...earlier that week, all Americans were told to leave that city...4/7/02: there is now fighting on the border of Israel with Lebanon due to attacks on the Golan Heights...Israel states that it may attack Syria to regain stolen territory...the Arab states have asked President Bush to discuss this matter with the Israel PM...he did, and Sharon will look into this matter...
...4/8/02: Israel has been asked by the US, from a request made by the Arab states, to withdraw from Palestine...Iraq has cut off oil supplies to the US until Israel pulls out of the territory it has conquered and now occupies...at first, Israel would not budge...then it slowly left 2 towns...however, Israel still believes that Palestine cities contain nests of terrorists...Bush wants Israel to cease its hostilities towards other nations...4/9/02: Israel started attacking Palestine villages...Saudi Arabia says it will maintain the current oil supply to America in spite of Iraq's threats...4/13/02: Colin Powell & Arafat meet, after numerous suicide bombings took place the prior week...
...I have probably mentioned this before, but the September 11 events have taught us about Afgahnistan & Pakistan, the Taliban & al-Qaeda, airport secuirty, no-fly zones, and the vulnerability of our country...
The coast is toast!
