And so, we continue...

...9/7/02: the Navajo Nation was mentioned in the weather forecast...there was rain during the night...the moisture put a damper on the Hill fire, which burned 75 acres N of Penasco in the Carson NATL Forest...but 10 inches of rain has fallen in TX due to the remnants of Hurricane Fay...near Durango, CO, an inch of rain fell in about 1 hour, resulting in mud 5 to 6 feet deep oozing through La Plata County...the rain overnight produced slides over 10 feet deep in that same area, and more rain is expected...9/8/02: heavy rains in Grant & McKinley counties...in ABQ, the day was cloudy & warm...the humidity was 75% by 7 AM...but the chance remains for flash flooding in arroyos & small streams in W & NW NM...the remnants of Hurricane Hernan has caused problems in CA, AZ & UT...9/9/02: showers through the night; 90% humidity at 5 AM...there will be rain in the forecast until Wednesday, sometimes heavy, a thunder storm is possible...9/10/02: rain again overnight, cool AM...heavy rains in NE NM...rain during the morning & early afternoon; SunPort recorded one-half inch of rain...many locations had almost 2 inches...streets were flooded in the Downtown area...very cool day, with temps mostly in the 60s' & low 70s'...light rain into the evening & in the early AM...

...9/10/02: Geri left early, not feeling well...problems, problems & more problems with the V drive which contains the audit database...it indicated an invalid path...many people in various Coding areas had the same problem, but theirs were solved quickly...well, several people & hours later, it was discovered that Mike could access the file using the other PC in Coding, but not his own...the software, the PC & Mike's account were various reasons as to the source of the problem...the problem was finally resolved on 9/11/02, don't ask how!...in other events, explained to Dr. Bashir the difference between follow-up I/P consults & subsequent I/P visits...he OK'd the changes to his old green cards while obtaining a quantity of new ones...this was the same decision as Dr. Fahl & Dr. Rose...9/11/02: Geri out sick all day, 4 other people were absent from Rosanne's area...when Hope found out that Geri was out, she did not pick up any more charge (but she will have a perfectly "Hope-like" reason as to why she didn't need to pick up any more billing sheets)...spoke with Dr. Anaya about coding, "rule out [R/O]" diagnoses...there is no ICD code for these types of conditions...Dr. S. Mathew stopped by, asking questions about coding visits...

...9/8/02: road rage; a man was attacked while driving on US 76 in Rio Arriba County by a driver who thought the victim had his headlights on high beams, thus blinding the second driver...this person got out of his vehicle & slashed the victim on his wrist & ear...9/9/02: Capitol rage; Congress passed a $6 billion drought recovery bill, which President Bush opposed...

...9/8/02: Brad created a rub for salmon, made of paprika, chili powder, crushed red peppers, cinnamon, cumin & salt...9/11/02: Brad made egg drop soup (mmm...so good!)...9/15/02: Brad made a peanut sauce to cover steak strips with mushrooms & rice, plus salad topped with more sauce...9/9/02: spoke with Dr. Lattimore, told her that she had clear & easy-to-read notes, which include the time spent with a patient...then Dr. Maahs said a new doctor would be added to PSAC...he gave me the name but I needed her ID number...called one of his staff, to find out that Dr. Ralston (the new MD) has not passed all the tests to render services in either the clinic or hospital...9/10/02: Dr. Lattimore is finally able to practice legally...since she is now number 26942...9/16/02: Geri did do the Rounds!...
The days before & after Friday the 13th, in September...

...9/12/02: Geri returned to work, feeling better...she had to work upstairs before someone thought it was a vacant desk and took it...so, alone again, I chased away Hope...Geri wants to do the Rounds starting Monday, 9/16/02...there was an unconfirmed sighting of a tornado near Jemez Pueblo, moving towards San Ysidro & Cochiti Pueblo...there were reports of hail an inch in size...there were also strong storms near Las Lunas & west of ABQ during the early evening...the weather was so bad, the rides at the State Fair were shut down...these were the worse storms to move through the state in many years...no official tornadoes, but lots of mudslides near Durango, destroying 6 homes...9/13/02: at work, alone again all day...no one asks about Ann, and I rarely think about her...86% humidity in the early AM...two periods of rain, in the early & late PM, quite heavy at times...in some areas it rained the entire day...some roads were 6 inches under water...several low pressures rippled through CO & NM...

...the West Nile Virus has spread to Colfax, Union, San Miguel & Lee, Chaves & Eddy counties...no human has been infected...but in CA, a woman has tested positive for the illness...only 8 states have not reported a human fatality...
And so, we wait...

...8/29/02: the legal process has begun...I may lose my PC...9/1/02: the inventory begins!...9/2/02: the inventory (and paperwork) is completed!...for now...9/5/02: the next step in the legal saga, meeting with the attorney...that done, a follow-up counselling session was scheduled for 9/13/02...

...9/13/02: Brad & I reviewed legal documents, signed the necessary papers, and wait...the bankruptcy request will be delivered to the court the following week...within 10 days, the day & time for our appearances (on separate days, per all concerned) will be sent to us...the date will be within 30 to 35 days of the documents being received by the court, and will take place on either a Monday or Friday morning...a letter will also be sent by our lawyer to each of our creditors...Mike's day in court is 10/21/02 at 1 PM...Brad's is on 10/28/02...

...Rayme Lynee Adakai was chosen Miss Native America 2002...

...a thirteen year old girl was soaked with lighter fluid, then set on fire by her brother...she has first & second degree burns over 10-20% of her body!...

...9/13/02...a tornado was reported in Chavez country...9/15/02: an early AM flash flood warning for Eddy Country, as more rain is on the way...in spite of the rain, the Rio Grande is still drying up!...most of NM will have dry weather for the next few days...a state of emergency exists in the Navajo Nation...Tuba City, Chinle, Shiprock, Many Farms & other towns suffered extensive damage due to the ehavy rains this past week...tropical storm Hanna brought rain to some parts of AL, FL, GA & SC...4 lawsuits have been files against St. Joseph's Med Center for sexual misconduct by male & female employees...Val Kilmer & Shirley McClaine want movie companies to film more using NM locations...9/13/02: bedroom closet door came off hinges...9/14/02: Brad & Mike correct the problem...Brad moves his studio into the spare room...with the help of some tools, his PC modem works again...he uses the phone jack from the bedroom. which also gives him a telephone in his studio...Mesa Verde Natl Park has completely reopened...we enjoy another great meal at the Owl Cafe...noxious in Knoxville; train derails, spewing cyanide gas into a neighborhood, more than 1,000 homes are evacuated...a terrorist cell was discovered in Buffalo, NY...they were sleeper agents...

...Prince Harry turned 18!...he performed charity work in the medical center that Princess Diana started...

...Captain did not feel well during early September...he caused little brown messes on the carpet...but his health has improved, and Captain enjoys sharing the bed with us when he sleeps at night...this is a sign that cooler weather has arrived!...9/16/02: and cool dry air has returned, making it feel like autumn (which arrives next week)...9/17/02: Brad found another good mexican restaurant on upper 4th ST NW...

...9/16/02: now Mike was sick...he felt dizzy, feverish & vomited at work, on Lomas near I-25 and at Lomas & 4th ST...he got home & continued the process...9/17/02: so far, the stomach has settled...he survived the day, including a PEDS meeting in which he & Geri explained the reality of reviewing billing sheets, all at 100% except for the Clinics...we also indicated that there are mean people out in our area, due to illness & vacations...no one can be spared in any of the PEDS coding area...getting & training a new employee would result in overall slowdown in productivity...but these people expect more work to be done, including more audting plus training of doctors on errors that are frequently made, plus teach any new residents & med student & interns... Rosanne was out all day on 9/16, a half day on 9/17/02 due to her knee...she has to use crutches more often now...at Geri's PC there is a make-up compact...PEDS received an E-mail from Ann, regarding the humorous side of cubicles...

...9/18/02: another dead bird (crow), killed by the West Nile Virus, has been found in Sandoval County, bringing the total number of counties to 10...politicians waited until after 9/11/02 to begin their smear tactics & attacks...

...9/18/02: the weather may change...a Low pressure will bring clouds, winds gusting to 40 mph, cooler temps, plus snow showers to the mountains & storms in the lower elevations...a wind advisory is issued for the latter part of today...this is the typical fall storm pattern in the Southwest...and it did...ABQ received about one inch of rain, which fell during most of the day...and so did the temps, until it was 59 degrees at noon and 56 degrees at 6 PM...9/19/02: 52 degrees at 5 AM...snow at Red River, Taos, Angel Fire & the Sangre de Christo MTNs...highs in ABQ near 70 (it reached 67)...the same for 9/19/02, but warmer temps expected by the weekend...a small stream & arroyo flood warning has been issued for Curry & Quay counties...and Hurricane Isadore churns & gains strength in the warm waters in Gulf of Mexico...she may make landfall by early next week as a Category 5 storm...9/20/02: 50 degrees at 5 AM, and very dry...

...unemployment is at a 10-year high in NM; the state ranks number 9 in the country...job growth is less than 1% this year...the recession & 9/11/01 are cited as reasons for economic stagnation...Taos County is in a struggle to not file bankruptcy.. this is the second time in 2 years that they have been faced with this situation...irony?...in the US, a draft resolution has been drawn and presented to Congress by the president...and in Korea, the begining of peace talks between both parts of that country...

...9/19/02: President Bush asked Congress for authority to use all means, including military force if necessary, to disarm and overthrow Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein if he does not quickly meet United Nations demands that he abandon all weapons of mass destruction. At the U.N., Iraqi President Saddam Hussein delivered a defiant written message taunting the United States while claiming that Iraq has no chemical, biological or nuclear weapons - and saying he welcomed inspections to prove it...

...9/20/02: As Iraq's biggest trading partner, Russia fears a war not only would intensify instability in the Middle East but also jeopardize its economic interests in Iraq, which owes Moscow $7 billion in Soviet-era debt...Russian oil companies are helping rebuild Iraq's oil infrastructure and are positioned to reap significant benefits in the future...
