...6/16/03: the Central bus almost sped by me...just a big joke for him!...Rounds lasted until 10:10...Natalia's health is improving...she was moved to 3-E on 6/15/03...but it is still touch & go...she will not have full movement of her left arm...6/17/03: another surgery, and her fever has risen...in spite of the desert sun & heat, there are many porcelain skinned women...6/16/03: Hume Cronyn, dead @91...husband of Jessica Tandy...PGA Tournament will be held in ABQ & televised nationally...the most expensive cities to live in the world ar Tokyo, Moscow & Osaka...

...6/17/03: 51 soldiers have died since the war "ended"...the troops that were ambushed in Baghdad had been given wrong directions...I wonder how many people need to be found & arrested in order to play with a full Iraqi deck?...tonight, President Bush is holding a $2000/plate re-election fundraiser...hot dogs & hamburgers will be served,,,the $4 million raised will help Bush face the democratic challenge...US approves of the unrest in Iran...Hamas is trying to convince its troops not to fire on Israelis...would that be true of their enemy...stocks are driven by investors, not the common man...the Dow & the NASDAQ have not been this high since last summer...300,000 jobs have been eliminated since 1/1/03...only 20% of companies interviewed say they would be hiring in the next 3 months...this is the worst job market in 12 years...

...6/17/03: the PM Central bus driver who told people this was a drop-off only bus (?)...the helicopter which crashed into an active lavaflow, killing all aboard...the AZ bishop who struck & killed a man, then left the scene of the accident, claiming he thought he had only struck an animal (?)...Brad & the waffle mix that would not mix...

...Unknown 2 No One...the newest boy group...and they're from Iraq!...

...day after day of rainy weather in the South & the East Coast...6/17/03: downpours in this state...some rain actually fell at our complex!...more is expected...storms again in the Sandias!...

...the Cumbres & Toltec Railroad had sold out all train rides during the first weekend of operation!...

...the biggest fireworks display in the state will be held on the Fourth of July...there will be activities throughout the entire day...but there will be no bus service (?)...meth labs are appearing around the area because it is cheap, easy to make & very addictive!...it is also very flammable!...and it is mainly used by ex-cocaine users...

...Lysol can also help kill moths!...Captain was placed in confinement during the evening of 6/16/03...we tried a different approach the next AM, and will pay more attention to him plus feed him more good tuna...I slightly overslept (7 minures)...I need to take a picture of Central @6 AM during the week...the newest porn movie, ABQ Moving & Storage (again, you had to be there!)...ABQ "solid waste" = politicians!...

...Rosanne did not know that GPU & PSAC had "merged"...there was a voice mail message on Cassandra's phone...it was for Ann...she had defaulted on the loan, could not be found & Rosanne co-signed the document...the frost appears to be thawing between Coding & Dr. Katz...he spoke to me when I was in PICU...PSAC had 15 patients; GPU, 21 (no vacancies & no D/Cs')!...6/18/03: a little less busy in GPU; no changes in PSAC...

...6/18/03: doctors found that Natalia's body is rejecting the grafts...the threat of infection is still present...there is still the chance of the arm being amputated...if the arm can be saved, it will grow no longer than its current length...and the father cannot understand why he is still in a CO jail...at the end of the day, Dr. Cordova wants to know how we code a splint...there are various answers...but, since we did not answer quick enough, she E-mailed Rosanne (why?)...Dr. Bashir wants to know why his services have not been paid...according to the history screens, his May charges were just entered last week (again, why?)...

...while one voice says that SARS has been stopped, another whispers that a person from NM has been diagnosed with the disease...and riots erupt in Benton Harbor, MI...

...6/18/03: 61 degrees @ 4 AM; 63 degrees @1 PM...60% humidity @4 AM; 70% @1 PM...a cloudy, rainy day across the state...light, steady rain in ABQ during the AM...there is tthe chance of arroyo & flash flood warnings throughout the state...the sun came out in the late PM...the 2 largest fires in the US are burning in NM...the Boiler fire has burned nearly 52,000 acres near T or C...the Dry Lakes fire, near Silver City, has charred 18,000 acres...but both of these are controlled burns...electrical problems at the new Westside Jail have been fixed...on to the next problem!...

...6/18/03: the earliest I have ever arrived home...4:24!...

...6/18/03: Brad created a delicious pasta with parmesean cheese, mushrooms, peas & anchovies; garlic, scallions, extra virgin olive oil, salt & pepper, white wine, butter & parsley...6/19/03: he baked the leftovers and added crushed tomatoes...another superb meal!...6/20/03: the meal of the day was avocado soup, topped with watermelon pieces, with a twist by Brady, and incredible homemade onion wings, light & delicious!...

...the Pope accepted Bishop Thomas O'Brian resignation...he had left the scene of a hit & run in Phoenix, thinking he had struck an animal...a bishop from Santa Fe, the largest Catholic diocese in NM, will handle both diocese...the man is Michael Sheehan...a computer glitch is preventing anyone named "David Nelson" from boarding a plane...at times it feels like you have to take a course in Small Talk to fit in with the bus crowd...

...a Lovelace/St. Joseph's merger means that management heads will roll...the survivors; those that have the most seniority...the same software packages are utilized at each location, so training is unnecessary...

...6/19/03: it's 60 degrees & 67% humidity @5 AM...there was a chance & there was a small amount of rain late in the day...more occurred around the state...we have been in an unstable weather pattern, with a low pressure moving slowly through the state...dry conditions return this weekend...this condition is worse on the East Coast, where, in some places, it has been the wettest spring in history...

...1-stop shopping rules!...there were financial gains for Family Dollar, Big Lots! & Nordstrom (?!)...Target sells more electrical appliances than Circuit City & Best Buy...my search for a new desk has ended...they are just too big...so I will be creative with the practical space saver I have...

...SARS has appeared in NM...a person came to the Resp. Center at Presbyterean HOSP...this was March, 2003, so there were no guidelines or protocol to follow...he had just returned from a trip to Hong Kong...he was dx with pneumonia, given medications & was released...blood tests finally returned the second week in June (?)...they showed the patient had the SARS virus...the student, who had stayed out of school, has fully recovered...also, a 70-year woman in Torrence County has tested positive for the Bubonic Plague...

...there is no large scale resistance in Iraq...but there are pocket forces which stage guerilla attacks on soldiers...things are more tense in Iraq now than when there was an official war...a soldier was killed guarding a gas station...an ambulance was ambushed...our attention seems to be directed at Iran...they should not be building nuclear weapons...Colin Powell met with Israel & Palestine leaders, stating that Hamas is a threat to the Road Map...

...in the US, Hispaniacs are the largest ("majority") minority...they comprise over 13% of the population, but these people are from a variety of cultures & countries...

...the more things can't change...an accident leaves 5 Native Americans dead...it took place on US 421...a pick-up truck was hit by a big rig...this is the former Route 666, the Devil's Highway!...the case will be handled by the Navajo Tribal Police...

...6/20/03: the Aspen fire has burnt 4,000 acres N of Tuscon...more than 250 luxury homes, most heated by propane gas, have been destroyed...it may take 3 weeks to extinguish the blaze, located near Summerhaven, AZ...this was a controlled burn that got out of control...it is being described as the worst fire seen in AZ...gusty winds reaching 60 mph, and dry underbrush is helping to feed the blaze...there is the chance the winds may shift in direction, causing the fire to threaten more homes...40,000 acres have burnt in NM...but no lives or property have been threatened by the 10 Cow, Boulder or Dry Lakes; the third blaze has consumed 16,000+ acres...42 lightning fires were reported in the Santa Fe Natl Forest...but the recent rains helped put them out...the fires did help clear the underbrush...the chance of rain & even tornado warnings lasted 1 additional day...warm, dry weather should arrive on the first day of summer...6/21/03: 62 degrees @6:30 AM...the longest day of sunshine lasts 14 hr., 39 min...our skies may become hazy due to westerly winds blowing the heavy smoke clouds from Tuscon, AZ...

...sign on the UNM bridge: We're Hiring...why? because we're firing at the same time!...

...6/20/03: overnight, Captain was put in prison again...stuff had to be moved to close the doors...we may try letting him sleep in my bathroom...when he was set free, he immediately headed to the kitchen porch & munched on catgrass...Captain knows when we are upset with him...a pointed finger at him & no words are needed...he will look at me, then turn his head away, appearing to mumble...I have 4 ideas that we could try to remedy this problem...

...cigarets are a valued commodity...but people are willing to share, giving friends one from their own pack...knowing that someday the favor will be returned...

...6/20/03: left work @11...went to a Wal-Mart superstore...it was big & clean!...the evening was spoiled when Brad nuked his popcorn after I had just told him I was going to zap my coffee...no concern at times, his mind or thoughts are on another dimensional plane or planet...

...aging gas lines at the State Fairgrounds ...a newly appointed group is overseeing the upkeep...they were chosen by GOV Richardson...former GOV Johnson brought a camera with him, and was interviewed on Channel 7...golfers 55 & older will receive a 20% discount from MON-THUR...more alcohol will be served...

...train carrying lumber derails in Commerce, CA...destroys 2 homes...no one seriously injured...this was done to prevent the runaway cars from doing worse damage had they continued into downtown LA...the cars went off the track due to the shifting onto the spur track...

...Dolly Parton & Potential New Boyfriend & Baby I'm Burning dance songs...

...Harry Potter books disappear from shelves worldwide...the author is said to be worth more than QE2...Prince William turns 21!...

...Dr. Bashir & Pulmonary will be the second area that we will have to scan with scrutiny, since they claim more services were rendered than reported...
